I worked at Glen Ivy part-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Free Entry -Discounts on food and merch

    Cons

First off management isn’t the best. To me they do things very backwards and make everything more complicated than it should be. There is so much paper work too. Every request you have or anything you need has to be filled out with a different form. It’s ridiculous. It’s 2018, why isn’t this electronic. Even the customers complain about how much papers they have to feel out. You do a ton of work and get paid minimum wage....

They can sometimes have communication problems and their services can be kinda simple and may lack a little in quality

I worked at Glen Ivy part-time for more than 9 years

        Pros

Co-workers get along really well with each other and decent discounts for services to the employees.

        Cons

Extremely difficult to get your shifts covered if you need to take a day off. Extremely high demand for your sales quota even when the economy had fallen. A ton of my co workers were fired because of this. Very sad to see girls that had worked there for 8+ years to be fired because Glen Ivy decided to be aggressive with the product sale and make customers uncomfortable because we were being to pushy.

        Advice to Management

Be a little more understanding to your employees needs when they need time off. Help find coverage especially when their is a family emergencies. When the economy is slow don't fire good employees when their sale quota is 34%.

I have been working at Glen Ivy part-time for more than 2 years

        Pros

        - Get to do something different almost every day - There is a certain lead who always looks out for employees and encourages and mediates for them in order to make sure they are being heard. - Extremely flexible with your schedule, as a student, they work around your schedule - you have the opportunity to learn other departments - Free Entry and 50% services - Part-time doesn't apply to hours, you still work a full...

        Cons

        - There is a certain manager who makes it difficult to feel appreciated, this manager will belittle and mock employees. - Once they train you in another department, you might not get scheduled in the department you first initiated in - Overwork employees because they always understaff - customers are entitled and rude - Twilight hours are excruciating

        Advice to Management

STAFF ENOUGH PEOPLE, learn to give credit where credit is due, offer cross-training and make it it more available, if you're going to overwork the employees then bump up the pay, if not then don't ask so much from them.

        I worked at Glen Ivy

        Pros

You work a lot. So if you are willing to work basically full time, then this is a good job and you'll make a lot of money. Everyone working there is around 18-22 so it is all people who are around my age. I made many great friends there. It can be fun at times.

        Cons

Management does not listen, and does not care about your opinions. It is almost impossible to get days off during the summer without threatening to quit, even if you told them when they hired you that you needed x, y, z dates off for pre-planned family vacations. They ALWAYS UNDERSTAFFED US. Like, severely. To the point where I almost quit multiple times. It seemed like no matter how many people they hired, we still needed...

        Cons

one word: MANAGEMENT. my god i cannot believe the people there. i took the fall for a lot of things that were not my fault and management can care less. there is no training for any of the host positions. basically had to figure it out on my own. worked during seasonal/peak time so it was INTENSE. people called off. had 2 people closing the spa when it normally was a 4 person job. management could easily care...

do not be afraid to hire or schedule more people! if payroll worries you,, dont worry!! trust me. it will benefit the guest volume and overall spa experience. i only have negative things about glen ivy. so sorry. please consider valuing your employees more! you let a lot of good employees go to keep ones that arent benefiting the company! please hire a professional cleaning staff. 95% of your staff are college students...
