    Pros

Working for GCC is great. They work with my school schedule and have a very friendly staff.

    Cons

They don't have a current position as a full-time graphic artist. Only temps.

I have been working at Glendale Community College (Arizona) (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, wonderful students, opportunities for personal growth, free/reduced tuition, pleasant campus

    Cons

Horrible leadership, political in-fighting, cronyism running rampant, extremely low employee morale, lack of resources which creates in-fighting for what resources are available, the most toxic work environment I have ever seen!

    Advice to Management

Stop treating employees so terribly, develop some people skills and re-find your moral compass

I worked at Glendale Community College (Arizona) (More than a year)

    Pros

Good, supportive department Chair and colleagues. Pleasant work environment conducive to those who like to work independently. I didn't experience any micro-managing.

    Cons

Few opportunities for full-time employment. The pay is decent if you don't teach a labor-intensive subject, such as English. I also found that the number of available classes to teach fluctuated from semester to semester.

    Advice to Management

    Add more full-time positions.

    Maje correct schedule.

I have been working at Glendale Community College (Arizona) (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good coworkers, good benefits, constant opportunity for new learning. Great feeling at the end of a day helping students progress into the adults they will become.

    Cons

Too much mistrust of management, too much political infighting. Huge waste of resources, particularly time and money spent endlessly planning and executing ill-conceived projects. Work environment is starting to become more toxic than I have ever seen it before. Limited room for career growth once hired into a position.

    Advice to Management

Resist the move to consolidate all leadership at the district office. Resist the urge for dramatic, costly swings toward the latest educational fad. Resist the efforts to build wasteful technological boondoggles and wasteful construction like the Jeffrey Robinson Room and the Veterans Services building expansion. Keep things simple and focus on supporting the average student in the average classroom. Hire more from within.

I have been working at Glendale Community College (Arizona) (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Glendale Community College treats the staff with respect, the staff cares about the students and I love that they retain the staff.

    Cons

I wish there were more opportunities to go from Adjunct to full time staff.

    Advice to Management

    Hire the adjunct as faculty

I have been working at Glendale Community College (Arizona) full-time

    Pros

Free classes, reduced fitness center fee, majority of health benefits paid, Arizona state retirement

    Cons

Terrible management. Personal information hacked. HR useless. Whole place is unorganized.

    Advice to Management

Shape up and start treating employees equally. Stop favoring some and harassing others. Maybe there wouldn't be so many lawsuits.

I have been working at Glendale Community College (Arizona) (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great co workers. Good benefits if you can get board approved full time employment.

    Cons

The internal system for applying for jobs doesn't make employees feel valued. Been trying to get full time work for over four years here, but instead have to look elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

utilize your talent that is already in the system.

    Pros

A good opportunity to lean about different AV systems and preform installation such as video projectors, TV, run HDMI cables, VGA, RCA , Coaxial Cable and troubleshooting Classrooms.

    Cons

There is no opportunity to grow. There is also no current positions available and it is hard to get one if you are not board approve.
