    Mediocre training & experience.

    Pros

    Quite frankly, barely any pros.

    Cons

Be prepared to figure out complicated situations with tedious software programs entirely on your own while on the phone with angry customers. Communication with the clients from other departments is mediocre and you have to deal with the heat. Training is just overall crappy and there isn't much guidance. Pay is not worth it. Extreme, chaotic disorganization regarding communication between other departments. Oh and half of the job is basically telling people that they have called the wrong company (due to the confusing unorthodox of the existence of several companies out there, I'm talking about 12 or so, with a similar name in the industry. And the lack of global organization to distinguish among them.)

    Pros

engaged leadership in high quality culture. Talented co-workers, growth aspirations, entrepreneurial minded, transparent leadership, intentionally striving for diversity awareness and expansion

    Cons

private individual owner was convicted of campaign contribution causing growth to pause and be placed on hold for 2 years, delay in closing of deal with a new owner has been frustrating due to legal challenges by prior owner, very strong leadership with little turnover can limit growth opportunities prior to achieving growth aspirations

    Sinking Ship

    Pros

The company culture is fun and spirited, and the employees are friendly.

    Cons

The owner of this company is literally serving jail time right now for bribery and fraud (Google Greg Lindburg). The company has been in decline ever since he was indicted 2 years ago, and has closed all but one office. The staff has shrunk to under half of its original size and new staff can't be hired quickly enough to replace the employees leaving. Recently the company leadership disabled the ability for employees to send farewell/goodbye emails as they felt this was sending the "wrong message".

Stay away unless you really need a job

    Pros

Nice and friendly coworkers, decent benefits and 401(k) match, flu shots, food trucks, dog-friendly, remote work during COVID, continuing education support, community service supporting local school and community

    Cons

Execs put more effort into telling employees they work in a fun environment than actually making it one for everyone. They seem to be in their own inside-joke world that doesn't trickle down to people who don't work directly with them. "Fast-paced start up culture" used as excuse for being understaffed and pressuring employees to work over 40 hours a week and doing things outside of their job function. They're very proud of overworking employees and limiting working remotely (before COVID). Leadership can't make decisions or communicate well and then gets mad at you for not producing what they had in mind. HR shares people's personal business and criticizes employees behind closed doors for not buying into the "family" facade or being grateful enough for bare minimum things like holiday party (no family invited) or free doughnuts one morning. All in all pretty toxic, unless you work in finance or actuarial, they usually seemed to be content.

    Pros

Benefits package. 4 weeks of PTO. BCBS health insurance. And more

    Cons

Company was seized due to owner under federal indictment. Lots of drama and gossip and back stabbing. Promises promotions but doesn't follow through.

    Entrepreneurial, Energetic, Challenging & Fun

    Dec 5, 2017 - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

A lot of companies like to describe their culture as 'entrepreneurial', but its often not the reality. Global Bankers is truly entrepreneurial, and for people that are truly looking for this kind of environment (its not for everybody), this company is a great place to be. GB believes in moving quickly, innovating and learning from mistakes along the way. There is minimal hierarchy, and people who care too much about titles and reporting lines do not do well here. Everyone is encouraged to speak up and add to the effort, regardless of tenor. This creates a place where there is limitless opportunities - if you're willing to take on the challenge! I think that the culture of GB is especially unique in insurance , where the industry isn't exactly known for being cutting edge. People work hard but office life is actually pretty laid back. I've been here for over a year and its been a lot of fun - can't wait to see what we grow into!

    Cons

I'm a younger person, so don't love the office location, wish it was closer to one of the downtown areas.
