I worked at Global Blue full-time

    Pros

The engineering team is extremely tech savvy and can give a run for their money to any software company out there. Any enterprise level technology you come up with there will be people there who can do it.
The salaries are industry average, but there is a nice bonus (you will only receive bonus for nth year if you’re a current employee on n+1th year, 6th month) and the employee fringe benefits are above average.

    Cons

Didn’t have much interaction with the top management but by the mid/junior management the teams are run with the analytical mindset of moving chess pieces. The junior management consists of people who are extremely talented engineers and got promoted to managerial positions. None were educated in people/resource management or conflict resolution. The effect of such a composition is teams that are high performing but also break down after a while (high turnover rate compared to industry)

    Advice to Management

    1. Hire atleast some mid level managers who are human-oriented and knows how to lead and not order.
    2. Enforce diversity. If there are indian managers hiring a predominantly indian team or filipino managers having a predominantly filipino team it could lead to issues
    3. Hire women and put them in ALL teams. Can't stress this enough. If you do not know the benefits you're probably not qualified to be making top-level decisions.

    Pros

A big organisation deeply entrenched in the VAT refund business

    Cons

Silos. Inter departmental collaborations is hard to coordinate. Parent company is very keen to sell it off and therefore investments in employees are down to a minimum.

    Advice to Management

    Invest in your staff

I worked at Global Blue full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very friendly co-workers. Office in a great location. International environment.

    Cons

"Little" people seem to do a lot of work. Fighting over (de)centralization, while ignoring the customer. Money is waisted. People leave "voluntary". Bad management, not clear who's in charge.

    Advice to Management

Climb out of your ivory tower

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Global Blue full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Different kinds of people, nothing else.

    Cons

Horrible management, no progression, no pay rise, was not given a contract, many of the employees don't have contract, company does not value their staff, no team spirit, unfair treatment of employees. Bullying from managers! Ask them how many people have left in the last two years! People come and go, there's no respect, people stroll in at any given time. No structure of pay, people in your team will be paid more for doing less! They always say there's no budget for a raise but will hire many interns to just sit around doing nothing. Certain people get special treatment while the rest are treated badly. Hard work and long term employees are not appreciated.

    Advice to Management

Change your management. Read the reviews.
