I worked at Global Payments full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Opportunities for people with the right skills and connections. Rewards positive contributors. Focused on corporate growth, with benefits to those employees who survive that growth.

    Cons

Corporate growth is never painless. Global closed a number of offices while consolidating corporate assets after acquiring Heartland Payments in 2016. Most of the Global Employees who live in Maryland were dismissed.

    Advice to Management

Continue to reward those employees you kept. The company is only as good as its people, and you want to keep as many of the good ones as you can.

I have been working at Global Payments full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay is absolutely top notch. The new Linden building is state of the art with large windows and nice amenities.

    Cons

Their customer service is lousy. They can't retain anybody because frankly their terms and conditions drive people mad. The way they treat customers reminds me of Comcast. The bottom line always comes first and they will nickel and dime people in every way they can.

    Advice to Management

Be straightforward with your fees and stop nickel and diming customers. That kind of stuff will catch up with you in the end and you will end up like Comcast and other oversized, old-style companies - bleeding customers that are fleeing to straightforward, honest services.
