I worked at Global Personals (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked at Global Personals full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Staff is friendly, you get benefits like breakfast, gym membership, pension or health care.
There is many very talented and wonderful people and this is a good place to make some friendships.

    Cons

The management don't care and don't respect their staff. There is absolute no transparency what is happening, the decisions are hidden from staff till people figure out on their own. The management focuses on blame game instead of resolving a problem when one occurs. Hence people are not willing to take responsibility and initiative.

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent, act professional and treat people like professionals.

    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Global Personals (Less than a year)

    Pros

Relatively good pay for comparable roles
If Windsor is considered convenient location, office is quite central
Excellent coffee and other 'soft' benefits
    Well equipped office and facilities
    Some talented and dedicated staff

    Cons

Morality and ethics non-existent. Scammers at heart ' Google: 'Global Personals Scams' - for a view of what any future employee is likely to support.
Consider also independent reviews of end users of their platform. Anyone using their product should pay very close attention to T & Cs before signing up for services. Cancellation policy a hoot.
    Blame culture
    Inept senior management
    Pathetic HR processes
Sole motivation is income, not service offered to customers.
Verbiage RE benefits and atmosphere - pure fiction. Just goes to show what total fiction 'employer awards' are.

    Advice to Management

If you dig deep enough, you may find a long lost conscience.

    Pros

Salary is good, and people you work with

    Cons

No training, just do your job, employee views count for nothing.
No understang of people with families, no flexibility

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employee, money does not solve things in the long tern.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

Interesting technology, good mix of opportunities to improve skills. A product that has good market uptake even during the downturn.

    Cons

Unpaid overtime. Artificially inflated deadlines causing a high-pressure environment. Doesn't understand the concept of "time, features, quality: pick any two". Management talks the talk on agile, but refuses to walk the walk (ie, "you can do anything as long as *we* don't have to change").
