I have been working at Globoforce Limited full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The positive vibe when you walk into the office in Framingham is palpable. Globoforce genuinely cares about its employees and customers and it shows. Customers who visit us often remark the same about the energy of this company. I believe this is all reflected in the tremendous success and growth of the company.

    Cons

It is still a relatively flat organization so there aren't too many layers of management. If you are looking to "move up" you may have to look elsewhere. Then again, the growth of the company means that more management positions will have to be created.

    Advice to Management

Other than a bit more transparency into some of the direction of the company, by and large I would encourage you to keep doing what you are doing. Most of the employees know they are valued and part of something special.

I have been working at Globoforce Limited full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people that work here a genuinely good people. Many, care about other people beyond the work place.
Free food that masks the lack of annual raises and promotions.
New office space is nice but is open concept.

    Cons

Favoritism runs deep. Certain people barely show up for work while others are basically driving the business alone.
The social recognition platform is also perpetuated by favoritism. The loudest person in the room gets the award, not the hardest worker.
Globoforce thinks it's a big fish in a big pond when it's a tiny fish in a puddle.
Hypocrisy and sexism is rampant. There are 0 women in the C-suite. Limited promotions going to women and very few minorities in the company.
Managers are not equipped, trained, or experienced enough to be managers.
People are not willing to work collaboratively, many are trained to not share information with others.
Some managers manage a large amount of staff remotely; they don't see the big picture of what exactly is going on in the office.
The company constantly is reactive instead of proactive - upper management and executive leaders never say no to any prospective customer or active client at the expense of everyone else in the organization.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to open there eyes that recognition is a nice to have, not a need to have. They need to think beyond the next few months and start actually operating under sound business acumen. There needs to be more women and minorities in the company in leadership roles. Current managers need to be trained properly how to interact and actually manage their teams. Also, management needs to take a step back and look at the business as a whole; a primary reason why Globoforce pulled out of going public a few years ago... Tell you're employees how the business is actually doing instead of sugar coating things with paid lunches and trips to Arizona, Florida, and Dublin. Be an authentic company that you tout in books, media, and in the office. Actually practice Work Human instead of being a fallacy.

I have been working at Globoforce Limited full-time

    Pros

Colleague support is phenomenal, good benefits, bright yet calming and collaborative workspace, great work/life balance

    Cons

The company has so many leaders in so many parts of the organization from the top all the way to the first level of managers that are not people managers and are not being properly trained to be people managers. For a place that prides itself on working human, it's quite the contradiction. There is then lack of trust and respect for leadership. It makes the day to day more difficult to put up with. It's really sad to see as it could be an extraordinary company.

I have been working at Globoforce Limited full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

We have flexible hours and for the most part, people really care about their co-workers. Most people are eager to do good work and it is very collaborative.

    Cons

Turnover among sales effects everyone. You have to be a joiner to enjoy it - its not the type of place where you will be happy if you want to just come in, get your work done and go home.

    Advice to Management

I believe management is on the right track but the lack of communication really effects moral at times. There are many very loyal employees and if you kept them in the know, they would continue to follow.
