I am very thankful for GoTranscript for giving me a way to earn money at home while I am unemployed. It is convenient because you can choose how much work you do, and choose which files you work on. Other transcription companies that I have seen assign transcribers a ton of work! With GoTranscript I can work at my own pace, when I feel like it. The work is sometimes challenging but it's something I can handle. I get high ratings on my transcriptions! Another pro is that there is a lot of work to be done, lots of new audio coming in. So there are many options of audio to choose from. Plus, they have a convenient transcribing tool that is right there in your browser, no need to download software.

Cons

I wish they paid higher rates. Maybe I'm just a slower than average transcriber and maybe I'll get faster with more practice, but it takes me a long time to transcribe things and so for all that time I put in, the pay is not high. However, I will keep practicing and trying to get better. Another con isn't really the company's fault but I wish that the people who submit audio files to us would provide more detailed information. Most people who submit audio don't provide info on what it's about. Sometimes it's a challenge when you're listening to audio and you aren't quite sure what it's about. It makes it harder to understand and therefore harder to transcribe. But thankfully, some people do provide information though. This is helpful!!

Being a transcriber at GT comes with lots of positivity and no regrets. They pay their workers in time and I've also realized they don't have a low season whatsoever unlike other companies, which shows clients trust the front office and what they deliver too.
