I have been working at Gogokid full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible schedule. Set your own hours.

    Cons

Used to be great. Payment issues galore now. Large percentage of their incentive system is based on parent reviews but here's the kicker - parents can't leave reviews because of "system issues". If you decide to get a job here, plan only on your base pay ($14-$18 an hour). BEWARE

"Zero respect for teachers, Pay cuts at Xmas"

I have been working at Gogokid part-time for more than a year

    Pros

They pay on time each month...Is it a pro that I'm paid less now than when I started?

    Cons

They gave a paycut at Xmas. They changed the credit score system (anyone at a high rate gets a paycut - my paycut is .80/hour). The credit score system is very scammy, and they reserve the right to adjust your score at any time for any reason (they wrote a credit score loophole in the contract). Your pay will vary day to day, and you will not be able to calculate it. Your pay is at the mercy of parent opinion. They never support their teachers. They often complain about teachers in the newsletter. They send threatening emails. Quality assurance is condescending, offers the same copy-paste blanket advice to everyone, and essentially harasses teachers. Teachers claim that QA docked them when parents left 5 stars (and verbal conversations were had between parent and teacher - to confirm there was no issue). They request unpaid meetings on Skype (for teachers with less than .5% parent complaints - and thousands of classes taught). Teachers are treated like employees, not independent contractors, yet we receive no employee benefits (good luck when you get sick $$$). The customer service is very bad - they do not understand or want to understand your issue. Whatever they say is set in stone, even if it makes no sense. If you write a ticket, they will "respond" by shifting the blame, closing the ticket and leaving the matter unresolved. Teachers have had their schedules frozen or contracts not renewed (for medical issues that were documented and approved by the company). They invalidate but do not remove feedback, even when it is inappropriate (parents wrote the teacher is ugly, old, etc.). I cannot recommend this company. I have deleted my prior 5 star review. When I started (over a year ago), they were great. Now every change is increasingly worse. They must have new management, and their attitude toward teachers is SO disrespectful. Many teachers got into this gig because they were sick of being disrespected. Expect more of that at Gogokid. The glitchy platform is worse than when I started. The app requests full admin privileges, and many teachers are concerned about spyware. BEWARE THE PRIVACY POLICY. There's some shady stuff. Read it. The courseware gives no thought to how students actually learn. They should take a TESOL themselves! It follows the audio-lingual method, which was established to "teach" English to soldiers in WW2. There's a big gap between K2 and each successive level (students at the upper levels often struggle). The interactivity varies, and it often interferes with actual teaching. There's a dearth of content in some lessons (teach "hi" to a toddler for 25 minutes). The students' levels are OFTEN inappropriate, and you will not get the level changed. If you don't complete the material, you will get a bad review and lose money. This leads many teachers to rush through the material that students don't understand. Teachers are afraid to say students are less than "excellent" for fear of a bad review/pay cut. This results in an increased gap between student/level. They need to work on curriculum in a BAD way. They need to level kids appropriately. By the way, there haven't been any new reviews posted VISIBLY here in months (currently 46 out of 80 something reviews) -why? The review number increases, yet the new reviews are not visible.

    Pros

I have been working at Gogokid part-time for more than a year

    Pros

I've gotten a fair number of students; classes book under 24H as well.

    Cons

Total lack of respect for teachers. They are currently trying to rope everybody into a new contract with a drastic drop in pay under a confusing system which is impossible to determine your earnings.

I have been working at Gogokid part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pick your own hours within Chinese peak times for classes

    Cons

Recent pay cuts, says no minmum hours but unless you work multiple classes daily, you earn no bonuses. Conveluded and sketchy credit score system, down hill fast. Pregnant women fired for going into early labor, people fired for being sick.

I have been working at Gogokid part-time

    Pros

I’ve been with Gogokid for 2 months and it’s been great! I was with VIP kid for 4 months and had a few students in the beginning but I went from 4 students a week to zero for an entire month. Let me first begin, the orientation and the interviews are very organized and they well train you on everything you need to know about the website and teaching. There are rules just like any other job you work with. These rules are for a reason. You have to use at least two props. It’s not that hard. If I don’t have props from my children’s toy box, I’ll print it off the computer. I really pay close attention to my students and remember what they like such as the movie Frozen or if they play soccer. What I love so much about gogokid is that if you send out an SOS during class, they rush in and fix the problem and ask if you’re ok. Like any other company, they accidentally marked me as a no show when the student didn’t show. Always take pics for evidence! They immediately apologized and changed it after sending them a ticket. The first two weeks of gogokid, my bookings were filled 80%. After that, I have been booked 100%. I have the same students that come to me every time now. Yes, you do have to wait 5 days until you see a payment posted, but they explain that in the beginning. Keep a log if you need. If you don’t follow the rules and cancel classes or whatever, they can deduct points or even take away pay. Being in a professional world, if I cancel an appointment with a big client, it will ruin my reputation and opportunity to make money. Gogokid is very reasonable and make sure you choose your referral wisely! Mine was so extremely helpful and after 2 months, she still helps me out. Hope this was helpful!!

    Cons

There are no cons with this company!
