    Fast paced and gives a lot of work

    Cons

    Not much progression and international exposure

    Advice to Management

    Must have a clear progression and include international rotation for workers who want to gain international exposure.

    I have been working at Gold Fields full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The salary is quite good but that's mostly due to amount of hours you work and it's good to get almost 6 months off a year

    Cons

    You have to live away from home half of the year and the hours are long. There is also a lot of pressure to work unpaid overtime

    Very good safety standard and environmental policy

    Poor employee development and no promotion till someone resigns or dies

    - Was given responsibility and trusted to complete projects
    - Was able to be involved with assisting senior engineers
    - Given exposure into the mining industry
    - Great camp life, lots of social sporting activities

    Pros

    Good roster & working hours. It's good if you're looking for the experience or you're just starting your career, otherwise nothing else.

    Cons

    Management, safety standards not up to scratch, pay not competitive. No employee development plan whatsoever, only training they give is induction when you start up. Frustrating work practices due to poor management planning

    Employ the right people at the top to start with
