I worked at Gold Medal Travel full-time

    Pros

Energetic work environment with the buzz that you would expect with a large call centre
    Focused teams
After dnata bought the business the recognition was improved
    Large on site car park

    Cons

Before dnata the constraints on spending and recruitment were difficult
Little actual recognition for good people which did mean a high turnover of skilled people

    Advice to Management

Communicate and avoid too many projects

I worked at Gold Medal Travel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent training - really detailed and committed training by the guy who spent weeks with us going over the booking systems.
Very smooth introduction into the sale floor and a supportive team.

    Cons

    Targets quickly become unattainable
Work is incredibly tedious, just taking endless enquiry calls.
No much earning potential, uninspired colleagues.
    Humdrum

    Advice to Management

The training was really great guys, I can't remember the name of the older guy who trained me up but he was a pleasure to work with.

    Pros

Allowed to work autonomously and judged fairly on results by a competent line manager (Product Director). Ideas could be implemented quickly.

    Cons

Location - company has been around a long time and has churned most of the decent work force in the area. They suffered from a reluctance to promote from within (may have changed since TC taken over).
