I worked at Gold's Gym part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I got to know some amazing kids and parents. I ended up babysitting many families from there after quitting. Made some great friends too.

    Cons

Managers do not care about you at all. Corporate does not care about you at all. Do not expect to get efficient raises. I worked there 2 years, and I was the best one in Kids Club. The managers always wanted me in there when corporate came in. The parents always preferred me and I always could handle problems and situations. I was the only one that got mentioned in good reviews for the company. I could handle many kids at once. In two years I got a $0.16 raise (starting at only $8 an hour) . Managers do not care if you have more kids than you can handle. You will be the only one in there working with not help. Expect to get paid less than you deserve and never appreciated. Expect to be stuck with this job. There is almost no room for growth.

    Advice to Management

CARE ABOUT YOUR EMPLOYEES. Show your appreciation through sufficient raises and salaries. Put more than one attendant in there ( I know you have the budget for it too) at all times.

I worked at Gold's Gym part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free membership and plenty of time off.

    Cons

Owner only cares about money and NOT maintaining equipment or supplies. Charge an annual fee to maintain facility, but equipment is constantly breaking and repairs take months to complete... If ever.

Owner refuses to allow anyone to work over 32 hrs. because he has this false information that if he allows it then he will have to provide benefits. That rule only applies to businesses with 50 or more employees working full-time. He has barely over 20.

Pay is to low for what is expected of employees.

    Advice to Management

Stop focusing on lining your pockets with money and start taking care of your facility.

    Pros

I absolutely loved the people I worked with, and the gym itself.

    Cons

Upper level management doesn't take care of the gym or their employees. They expect a lot from people that they pay so little.

    Advice to Management

I think the gym would run more efficiently if corporate took care of the little guys

    Pros

Great gym and members that I absolutely loved working with

    Cons

You work for corporate and they don't care about you at all. No sick days so you must take from your PTO. Many mistakes on my checks throughout the years. No training to advance in the gym being there 10 years and brought huge corporate accounts to the table.

    Advice to Management

Sales managers is hourly not salary like the other managers.extremely very low hourly pay ($9.88)You make commission and to bonus good luck! The goal to hit are set way too high. (The commission structure just changed Jan 2017) I will take a Huge cut in pay around 12-15 thousand.
