I worked at Gold's Gym full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly work environment, it really depends on who you work with for a great experience or not. Set your own schedule and have a great GM/FM and youll do great!

    Cons

Downsides can be that if you work at a slow location can be hard to fill your quotas to get the better pay % as well as benefits of full time employee

    Advice to Management

Make it easier to get % as personal trainer. Gold's gym is making tons of money and make better money by aquiring great trainers. Also make the rank up system alot faster!

I worked at Gold's Gym full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun people to work with and some fun customers as well. I truly gained great networking here. There was not a lot of stress.

    Cons

Some customers can be extremely rude about their billing... Can be expected anywhere though. The bigger problems are lack of process, training, focus of quantity over quality, employee retention, and PAY. Pay is the worst con. The sales reps/front desk make minimum wage and the front desk is normally clueless about company policy/rules. The commission is bad, and only decent during peak seasons.
50 calls per day metric, with poor lead generating system on the computer. it is very frustrating to have walk-ins get held back from you. Just because it feels uncomfortable calling the same 10 people everyday to harass them to buy a gym membership + training.. thus not hitting quotas of 50 calls per day.

    Advice to Management

Quality over quantity with your customers. you have a great brand logo. people in the industry respect and love the Gold's Gym standard. Do better with the protein bars-diversify the supplements with the hot $upplement market, get your front desk ENGAGED, and commissioned on front end items. The customers that come in to golds want to spend their money on high end equipment and supplements. OFFER IT TO THEM! and get your low level employees engaged, give them better metrics and opportunities to quantify themselves.

I worked at Gold's Gym full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Free Gym Membership, working with Co workers. That is all. I would steer clear of this company. Joe Gold would roll over in his grave if he knew how management treated the employees.

    Cons

Backwards Management, Minimum room for advancement, No direction, Ripping people off by selling training packages at 60 per session with unqualified trainers.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your employees. Pay them what they are worth. Give your employees better schedules. Everyone in payroll needs to be fired. Expect your check to be off. All payroll is done in Dallas.

I have been working at Gold's Gym part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible, free gym membership, discount on merchandise, friendly managers & co-workers. The Preston Center location has wonderful members who make my job enjoyable.

    Cons

The only con is spending long hours on my feet. I know it looks unprofessional to sit at the front desk, but a stool would be nice sometimes.

    Cons

Pay is very low with no benefits and the staff overturn is the worst I've ever seen

    Advice to Management

Higher pay with benefits would help employees stick around

I have been working at Gold's Gym part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fellow associates and managers are very friendly and make work a positive working environment. A fun child care job with a good team and clear guidelines made it a job I could look forwards to. The hours laid out were very manageable and flexible as far a part time job goes, as well as the gym being open 24/7 in the case of front desk staff.

    Cons

Hours as a kid's care associate were limited.

This gym is 24 hours so concerning front desk associates (which I partake in occasionally), you may get odd hours.

You are working with kids so you must be able to handle up to 10 kids running around which can sometimes get hectic.

    Advice to Management

Management has been helpful and friendly. They have always been flexible with scheduling and done a great job to make the workplace a great environment for employees. I would say management has done a great job and I have no complaints.
