I have been working at Gold's Gym part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Job, Co-Workers, Supervisors and Clients. This was a great experience. As a new trainer you learn so much. From sales, to time management and most importantly huge growth in training knowledge.
This is great place to grow. I loved the team I was on! Fantastic Experience.

    Cons

Commission only- If you aren't training, you aren't really being paid. For the exception of your "floor hours." However, this is very typical among big corporate gyms. Its very hard to reach full time, and hold full time.
The medical benefits are a joke. You might as well be on Obama-Care or have none at all.

    Advice to Management

This company is too big to not have a good health care plan for employees.
    Trainers need a base salary.
The Good Ole Boy System isn't working anymore.

Oh and the next time the "Big Dogs" come to see a brand new gym-maybe you should actually look around and speak to some of your staff. Playing basketball for 10 minutes and then having margaritas at Torchy's Tacos is disheartening.

    I worked at Gold's Gym full-time

    Pros

Great atmosphere to work in. The pay is great if you are willing to put in some work.

    Cons

No benefits. The pay is great, but the most they give you for benefits is a stipend for health insurance. It did not even cover half. If they at least offered some kind of retirement plan, that would have been enough for me to stay.

    Advice to Management

    Set up a retirement plan!
