I have been working at Goldcorp full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Low costs, great people, company commitment to people and their development, company commitment to smart growth, 10 properties in low risk areas, great wages and benefits.

    Cons

Few properties in USA, means few US opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Keep overhead costs low, keep organization lean and efficient.

    Pros

Good benefits, decent pay, their Canadian mines seem more stable,

    Cons

They seam to be abandoning their smaller mines along with the people who work at them, which contradicts one of the six pillars (the companies alleged core philosophy) they are selling all their US assets which means people are getting laid off

    Advice to Management

    Quit selling out

    Pros

Great pay and benefits. Safe, relaxed work environment. Safety is primary! Excellent people and fun to work with. Highly recommend. Exciting environment.

    Cons

Busy and hectic travel schedule. Some disconnect between corporate, region and site levels. No extensive standardized set of policies and procedures.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Goldcorp full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is a lot of room and capacity for people to grow in their positions, if a person demonstrates the ability to adapt to changing conditions and wants to develop it is all available. It is a company that values family and safety which is shown in their overall statement "Safe Enough for Our Families".

    Cons

Location, location, location, they never seem to put mines in nice areas, so I would say the small towns are the biggest "Con". But if you're in for the short haul it is manageable.

    Advice to Management

I think management is doing a great job considering the constantly changing industry parameters, and it is all about adapting to change!
