    Pros

Good benefits, decent pay, their Canadian mines seem more stable,

    Cons

They seam to be abandoning their smaller mines along with the people who work at them, which contradicts one of the six pillars (the companies alleged core philosophy) they are selling all their US assets which means people are getting laid off

    Advice to Management

    Quit selling out

I worked at Goldcorp full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great salary and benefits. Safety is truly important to upper management. There are lots of perks outside of the regular benefits

    Cons

You need to be part of the crowd. Expressing opinions is not welcome and is detrimental to your employment. Gold is the most important thing bar none. Supervisors and management are appointed based on friendships and family relations rather than merit, knowledge and skills

    Advice to Management

Moral is more important to safety and production than you think. When the right people move up they are respected more than those who have "connections"

    Pros

Excellent Group Benefits for all Office Employees and their families

    Cons

The Toronto Office went for a crap when New Management was brought in. They just let people go on a whim for no reason.

    Advice to Management

Make sure new Management understand the difference between Inc. and Canada employees

I have been working at Goldcorp full-time

    Pros

very safe place to work with good benefits

    Cons

poor moral in workforce with changes being forced upon then that don't always make any sense.
Very hard for young workers to advance.

    Advice to Management

Have one clear voice and a common path to obtain the set goals. Listen to the worker and have one plan to move forward with not a new one on every shift change

I worked at Goldcorp full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

In general the mine is a good place to work. However, the experience varies depending on the department.

    Cons

My experience with the company was fairly negative. I was lured to the job with some promised opportunities that never materialize and ended up taking a step back in my career for a better work life balance and higher pay. I realize now that the price was quite steep and regret taking the job.

    Advice to Management

I would recommend assuring that corporate policies are followed at the operational level. There is a big difference between how the company wants things to be done and how things are actually done.

    I worked at Goldcorp full-time

    Pros

There are lots of friendly people and the pay is good. Not a lot of pressure in the work environment depending on the department.

    Cons

There are lots of contractors and consultants, whom don't seem to be doing work other than complicating work already done. Lack of flexibility in work being done.

    Advice to Management

It would be nice to pay more. In terms of management, cut costs carefully and choose the CEO carefully.
