    Pros

You learn how to run your station. Then there is the constant Criticism and you never hear Job well done in a way that feels real it’s so fake. You do hear how bad your doing in a way that’s really and deflating.

    Cons

Executive managers drink on the job. Always out late in the night club and around town. They spend time at the local club watching team members dance on the stage the throw tips This team is an old style yell and scream Mangement style. From high level Corp staff to the the existing on property executive staff the jobs here are more like an obstacle course.

    Advice to Management

The HR department says they have an open door policy and they don’t everybody is related to others and nobody wants to complain.

I worked at Golden Nugget Hotels & Casinos full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The only pro about this place is a handful of the people you meet that work here. Just a handful. Other than that, a majority are rushed into the system or have quit working here 2 times and got fired several times and are continuously rehired for god knows what reason.

    Cons

The cons are basically everything else

-The Employee Cafeteria is disgusting. At least 7 out of every 10 employees can state that they have gotten sick off of the food served to them. Meats are visibly undercooked, grains are incredibly overcooked. Other things that aren't even meant to really be cooked with oil for whatever reason are drowning in it. There's no sanitation on some of the cooks part, and there are witnesses to attest to that. The cooks also never know whats being served. It's filthy in the cafeteria about half of the time with roaches on the walls and spilled food on the chairs. Revolting. And this is only the beginning of how terrible Fertitta treats his employees. He's going to lose a ton of people to the other casinos because he treats the people that WORK FOR HIM so badly.

-You have to PAY for your OWN EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT. That is unheard of.

-Some of the stores only look decent when it's time for corporate pictures.

-The "policies" pertaining to customer transactions are completely thrown out of the window when a high roller comes around. And employees are putting their jobs at risk because high rollers are to get whatever they want regardless of the rules mandated by corporate, and we are told not to use them when it comes to a high roller but for everybody else oh no they wouldn't dare bend the rules. They let high rollers get away with theft most of the time here because "They have an Elite card." This place is so backwards it's laughable.

-Speaking of which, Security doesn't do a great job of securing the retail stores that are supposed to be "valuable" and actually carry very expensive items in which corporate doesn't even give us the necessary tools to lock and keep safe in case of theft. There are absolutely NO sensor tags on anything in the stores. There is no sensor in the entrances to indicate when someone has stolen an item. Security has told us on many accounts to basically stalk a thief and 100% make sure they're stealing because for whatever reason they can never see them stealing on their "high def" security cameras and so we have to act as security in the retail stores like that's in our job description.

-Everything about this Job experience was a complete mess. This place is filled with lies, empty promises, terribly rude guests that literally complained to us that the Golden Nugget is the most boring casino ever. It's riddled with a terrible smoke smell because of that old crusty carpet they have running through the entire casino besides the retail section, and it's just not an enjoyable place to work and Fertitta does not care. He'd rather spend 2.5 million dollars on a basketball team rather than actually do something nice for the people that work so hard for him like give them a DESERVING raise for once. Instead we're treated like the scum of the earth here with terrible non-living wages and a terrible environment to match it.

The only people that will stay here are the people that have become complacent or the people that get away with everything and get paid well to do so. Somebody had to say it.

Get this place together Fertitta. It's a giant dump. And people that have worked for trump, and transferred over to your company when you took over say that even Trump took care of his employees better than you ever have.

    Advice to Management

-Some of the management team is great. However some is not. They take advantage of those that work hard and then everybody else gets away with doing whatever they want. That's not how to manage. Pay attention to what is happening on the floor.
-Get off the phone, stop having personal phone calls while on working hours and actually do the job.
-Don't make everybody else do your assigned work because you want to have a 2 hour phone call with god knows who about their personal problems.
-Extreme unprofessionalism and child-like behavior coming from Assistant Management.

Approach apparent issues with a higher level of maturity and organizational skills.
