I have been working at Golder Associates full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Talented consultants have a lot of freedom. If you like working in a dynamic/changing culture, this is the place for you. Good benefits - sick leave separate from vacation. You can accrue sick time over your career. Allows for full pay for maternity/paternity leave if you have worked here for a few years. Compensation package rewards those willing to invest in the company and top performers.

    Cons

If working in a dynamic/changing culture stresses you out, this is not the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Slow down a little on the change.

I have been working at Golder Associates full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good work environment, team attitude, opportunity for advancement, and caring for staff’s well-being are just some of the “pros”. Golder is a great place to work - for those that are not afraid of work! The firm provides a career development plan for each staff and also recognizes and develops “high performers”. Furthermore, being an employee-owned company has several benefits.

    Cons

Sometimes you will need to log long-hours due to client demands.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I have been working at Golder Associates full-time

    Pros

Ownership culture and opportunities to be an owner of your company is a huge plus. Leaders are ethical and driven and focused on success. Benefits are competitive. Real team environment - everyone looks to help one another, not overly competitive culture.

    Cons

Consulting is hard work, without normal working hours. You have to be willing to be on call, to go the extra mile, and to give your all.

    Advice to Management

The turnaround has been incredible, financially. Regular communications from CEO are good. I'd like to know more about our client work and technical achievements beyond the quarterly financials.

I have been working at Golder Associates

    Pros

Create a path to make your own way. Company is for go getters, don't except things to be handed to you. If you reach out and make yourself available you will move fast. Plenty of work and opportunities to move around if that's what you like.

    Cons

Staff is strong with excellent experience and expect the same, if you are looking for a 8 to 5, 40 hour a week with a daily schedule handed to you, this is not the place for you.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it Up

I worked at Golder Associates full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good project and internal networking opportunities for junior and mid-level staff through the Golder Professional Development Group. Good comradery. Several technical groups to subscribe to supplement technical knowledge and stay connected to other employees with similar interests. Mentoring from senior staff, growth and advancement for motivated self-starters. Compensation time is a good incentive for junior and mid-level...

    Cons

As with most consulting companies, project opportunities vary depending on the economic markets (construction, O&G, mining, environmental, etc). Restructuring has affected morale in some offices, but the company is re-equilibrating and leaving room for advancement for some. Pay is average. Work-life balance can be difficult at times, but is manageable depending on the standards set by individuals - very common for most...

I have been working at Golder Associates full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Opportunity, employee ownership, competitive salary, room for growth, good progressive culture, fun people, growing client base, awesome work life balance, employee events

    Cons

Not the best at integrating new employees into processes, engineers aren't the best to work no matter what company, new CEO so company is going through changes

    Pros

Career development opportunities, collegial atmosphere, employee ownership, high level of professional integrity across the company, loyalty, passionate staff

    Cons

I honestly don't think there's anything that goes on at Golder that doesn't also occur at other companies.
