    Advice to Management

Focus of experienced people and tap into their wealth of experience. Give decent raises to employees to boost morale

    Pros

Interesting work. I can get good domain knowledge and lots of technologies to explore. Lots of passionate and inspiring people to work with.

    Cons

Too much work, there is no exact work hours. Work life balance is totally up to us and we need to manage it.

    Pros

everyone very collaborative given the mantra that Goldman instills in the employees.

    Cons

Folks are hung up on "the prestige" of Goldman on your CV. Don't expect to have work life balance at all. 12 hours every day is the norm and forget about "free time" on the weekends". The reward for all this is that come bonus time we will pay the analysts a few shekels. They laid off nearly 10% of the workforce since Jan because of greed during the financial crisis and now they are paying for it.

    Advice to Management

    get real

I have been working at Goldman Sachs as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

People are very willing to help. Any questions you have will be answered at some point and the full time employees make an effort to have time for you.

    Cons

They do not take your viewpoints into consideration. They asked me for where I wanted to work and what I wanted to do - I mentioned that I was flexible but specifically did not want to be working on one specific project and that is where they places me.

    Advice to Management

The summer program is set up well. I would not change how it is run. Possibly give more structured opportunities for interns to meet other divisions.
