I worked at Goldman Sachs as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

You have the opportunity to learn a lot on the job. If you want to go to a place where you want to push yourself and see how well you perform under pressure, then this is the place. Office locations are good, on site facilities are good. Compensation is good for the role.

    Cons

You might end up with bad work-life balance due to the pressure.

I worked at Goldman Sachs full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Smart people, dedicated, motivated, decent pay, good benefits. Teamwork an important and continuing ethic that keeps the place together for now.

    Cons

Long hours, too much office politics, no loyalty to employees, starting to underpay vs peers. Senior management complacent and have been in site for too long now.

    Advice to Management

GS has lost its identity. We were the best, we now just follow and follow badly. Some bad recent senior hires have had a significant downturn on morale.

    Pros

Looks great on your CV and opens a lot of doors.

Good place to start the learning journey if you don't have a lot of background.

    Cons

Generally, incredibly political and ruthless, but depends on the team. Watch out!!!

Below market rate pay for graduate role, with twice as much work

    Advice to Management

If you want to be a tech company you have to pay engineers the market rate, otherwise they will just go to alternatives
