    Pros

wonderful firm to learn so much from and so much more than just finance. it shapes and grows you, if you'll let it! it demonstrates that hard work, integrity, teamwork & caring equals results and you can't help but want to succeed and be a part of it.

    Cons

very long hours of course! high expectations and you have to fight for air space but all of this is to be expected.

    Advice to Management

hindsight is wonderful and i wish i understood all that i developed at the time.... i'd love to be involved again one day as i went away and used all i learnt in building my own business. how does one even contemplate coming back?

I worked at Goldman Sachs (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great brand to work for, strong reputation in the industry
Employees are generally very smart, highly competitive place
    Strong business ethics
Competitors respect the firm and its employees , very strong business hold on the market.

    Cons

    Slow growth for lateral hires
Not a great place for technical folks though pay might be ok.
They do not give the same growth to lateral hires when compared to campus graduate hires
Pay is not the best compared to market standards esp for technology folks
Way too much politics and the manager can make or break your career
Work is not that great though they showcase themselves as a tech company, trying to compete with leading tech firms.

    Advice to Management

Give everyone equal opportunities before evaluating them during their appraisal.
360 degree employee review is great but sadly the employee can't write about his or her achievements, ultimately it's left to what the manager remembers during the last few months before the appraisal.
