I have been working at Goldman Sachs full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Fast paced environment, work with high caliber people, a company where you will grow personally and develop incredible professional skills. Cares about it's people

    Cons

Not a place where you will retire from, growth opportunities will stop for majority of people and culture doesn't allow for people to remain in current role. Either moving up or moving out

I have been working at Goldman Sachs full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Better work/life balance in the SLC office; less stressful enviroment while still producing top notch product for the company. Goldman attracts top talent, so your co-workers work as hard as you do.

    Cons

Can require longer hours - expected minimum is 50 hr/week. This is not just a 9-5, but you do get compensated.

I have been working at Goldman Sachs full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great co-workers, engaging work, meritocracy that recognizes talent and effort. Opportunities to develop and grow; community outreach.

    Cons

Work life balance is a struggle. Management says to not work crazy hours, but at the same time has expectations to keep 20 balls in the air at the same time, that no one of the team can do without long hours.

    Advice to Management

Meetings and feedback is always top down. Management never asks employees how they are doing as managers. Ask for input from employees and team members on how to improve management and actually follow through.

I have been working at Goldman Sachs full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You have a chance to contribute and make a difference early into your career and learn something new everyday. Great infrastructure and support for employees. Easy to get involved in side projects and activities. Lots of opportunities for internal mobility within the company.

    Cons

Long hours that make difficult to find work/life balance. Even though Goldman provides plenty of resources to have better work flexibility, the mindset has not yet shifted to use these resources on a daily/weekly basis.
