I have been working at Good Neighbor Community Services part-time

    Pros

    - Making a positive impact in the community - The Pay - Gas & Cellphone stipend -Flexible schedule - Clinical experience

    Cons

    - Soooo much driving - Expensive benefits - Isolation (there is minimal contact with co-workers, because you're in the "field" all day) - Burnout (3 hour sessions, 3 times a week gets old VERY quickly) - Flexible schedule (lack of consistency can be grating)

I have been working at Good Neighbor Community Services full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Often have team meetings in which the supervisors provide informative trainings and support. Majority fieldwork, however you report from home.

    Cons

Not a place to work if you're trying to have financial stability. The pay is inconsistent. If working with children for intensive in-home, very difficult to make full time hours.

I have been working at Good Neighbor Community Services part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Clients are amazing and some management really cares about employees and our clients great deal of overtime available thorough training practices

    Cons

Other DSPs do not understand the kind of work they are doing. I have seen numerous other employees come into work high or drunk and also smoking weed on the premises while caring for these people that need them to be in a clear state of mind to tend to them.

I have been working at Good Neighbor Community Services part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Unless you can make up a pro, then you will find none.

    Cons

Direct care employees are not paid well, not recognized, and are treated like numbers despite the countless trainings and certifications. Employment is a revolving door. It is very difficult to stay loyal to a company who puts so much emphasis on how they look instead of how they treat employees. You accumulate vacation time but if you cannot find coverage, you will more than likely have to cancel the day or days you requested. You receive evaluations in an untimely manner. (Sometimes being asked to sign evaluations that should have been given months ago) I guess it doesn't matter, since you won't be getting a raise anyway. You would be better off driving Lyft or Uber to earn money instead of working here.

I have been working at Good Neighbor Community Services full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The Clients make it worth while.

    Cons

Lack of raises given out. Management is typically left out of the loop as to things happening. Clients are not assets before being put in these homes with other individuals they may or may not get along with.
