I have been working at Good Shepherd Health System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Variety of technologies
    -Good people to work with
    -Very busy environment
    -Good management personnel
-Look forward to going to work everyday

    Cons

Some of the more urgent issues can be overstated and thus counter productive to the more serious issues within the environment

    Advice to Management

Keep the good work. It's an exciting time for GSHS. The future for the organization looks to be a bright one.

    Pros

Great care and professionals available in a smaller city. There is a sense of belonging in the organization.

    Cons

Financial problems within the system limit things like continuing education, etc. There is some uncertainty right now with a buy out to Duke Lifepoint and concern about loosing the family/community atmosphere.

    Advice to Management

More recognition for excellent work and always respect the professionalism of your subordinates. We are all there for the patient and assume we do our best.

    Pros

Great place to work, good sense of community

    Cons

Easy to feel overworked at this place

    Advice to Management

Open up to giving people a mental/physical break...especially the ones that work administration...it is difficult to be tied to a desk

I worked at Good Shepherd Health System full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people, good benefits, loved the on-site gym and access to the Institute for Healthy Living, in a great city too!

    Cons

Working at a hospital means you deal a lot with an angry customer - not the companies fault but just the type of people you usually deal with on a day to day basis

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

    Pros

More than 2 years with my employment at GSMC and I've decided the excitement of working here isn't a phase. I love the management, they encourage employees to grow and learn with the company. And as fast as I've seen things go I've learned just as much if not more. There is no micromanaging in my department, but rather a trust we are all working together to meet our goals. The director of my department has been the coolest guy and knows how to help the team push for success. 1 year in with this guy and he's built an outstanding team to work with.

    Cons

There was a time when I wasn't receiving the feedback I was hoping to improve. But this was not a short coming of management. It was a time of growth and we didn't have anyone leading our team at the time. Upper management was taking the proper lengths to make sure we got the right guy to lead our team

    Advice to Management

I can't say I've had any complaints. Keep giving the outstanding feedback so we can continue to perform. But aside from that I love the attention you give to the types of people you choose to lead our teams.
