    You learn enough from nurses that it's easy to become one if you want.

    Pros

    Good place to learn about nursing. Staff is good.

    Cons

    Duke Lifepoint pulled out of system. Currently has laid off 130 workers, Nurses and other staff. Low Census frequently. Difficult to find local MD's. Insurance is not the best.

    Small town atmosphere with a lovely little hospital

    Cons

    Management is very "good old boy" and thinks they aren't part of the larger hospital system that they actually belong with....they like to ride solo

    If you know what you're doing, it can be an o.k. job.

    Cons

    No training. Management is untrustworthy and rarely follows through, unless they're made to do so by so other governing entity.

    Advice to Management

    Get a clue.

    flexible hours, ability to use clinical skills, varied task, fast pace which makes the day go by fast. Professional growth and development. Helpful staff who are friendly and accommodating and hands on management

    Cons

    fast learning curve, too much work for 40 hr week. must take work home w/o compensation in order to meet deadline. low salary

    make realistic time management tasks

    Great people. All of the employees (that i met) were extremely nice and helpful.

    Cons

    Pay, besides that everything else was okay. Travel time was a bit much. Hospital was far from my home.

    Pros

    GSMC is a great place to work, as a full-time employee.

    Cons

    The pay scale is lacking for those who have a Business degree with experience, average at best is $12.00.

    Advice to Management

    Please be attentive of the Business employees and their value rate.

    Pros

    It's very laid back in the ER in Kilgore. Mostly everyone gets along.

    Cons

    Supervisors from other departments try to micromanage other departments that they no nothing about. No cafeteria.

    Advice to Management

    Bring back the bonus
