I worked at Good Shepherd Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is great camaraderie between nursing staff and mental health staff. Also a friendly work environment and team building.

    Cons

The pay for nurse professionals is low. There is a disconnect between health services and social work which really needs to be worked on at the executive level. Pay levels for nurses need to be looked at more closely this would help with retaining staff.

    Pros

I have been working at Good Shepherd Services part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Here they value education very much and it is reflected in pay rates and promotions

    Cons

Because they're so heavily concentrated on education it focuses less on dedication and experience.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within instead of hiring from the outside. It is hurting the culture of the organization and the staff who have been there for years.
