    Pros

Went through the graduate program. It was a good program to familiarize yourself with the company and the different departments.

    Cons

Guidance wasn't always great in all departments. Sometimes you were left on your own for a while and people forgot about you.

    Advice to Management

Overall a good program to get graduates familiar with the company. Ask more feedback from the graduates for improvement on the scheme.

I worked at Goodrich full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Nice place to work in Singapore. Good people and nice MD.

    Cons

No development provided to HR from HQ. Neither was coaching nor development opportunities provided by HR at HQ to Singapore. Possibly because there was discomfort in connecting with the locals at the Singapore Site. Local Management was of the opinion that Technical leaders were assessed using a different yard stick and therefore were allowed to get away with misbehaviour.

    Advice to Management

The culture may have changed since United Technologies has acquired Goodrich. Hopefully, all leaders are now being held accountable for their behaviours. And also, hopefully HR is provided with better support to become Business Partners.

    Pros

Self employed, formerly Goodrich Aerospace "Tooling Design Engineer". My resume will describe my qualifications such as a "Tooling Design Engineer", "Tooling and Die Machinist", and "Foundry Owner".

    Cons

I Would like to work with a company on a contract basis so I can devote my time to the production and processes that I have accomplished through my years.

    Advice to Management

Being I am the management, I am always looking for more knowledge in the manufacturing field because that is what I really like doing.

I worked at Goodrich full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Air conditioned, CNC machining is just cool, good experience. Some people are happy to work in a factory and just do the same thing day in and day out and know what to expect, that's a pro for this job if that's you.

    Cons

As a machinist they just want you to know your machine and stay put for the most part. I did see some people move to office and engineering positions. I guess it's what you would expect from a factory, stay in your spot, make your parts, treat you like a little kid kind of environment.

    Advice to Management

Wasting 5 days of continuous improvement to come up with the idea to position a desk 90 degrees to your machine so the machinist only has to do half turns, and putting on paper that it somehow save thousands a year is silly.
