I have been working at Goodwill part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

the only pros of working at the front of the store is that its pretty easy customer wise.

    Cons

cons is that you get a new rule added every week at this store you have to ask for a donation in the amounts of 1,3, or 5 dollars no less when we are only supposed to ask for 25 cents per customer and if we don't ask for more money we get written up for it. when we close the store the managers just stand around watching you and pointing stuff out they don't lift a finger, and if we don't get out at 9:30 -9:50 we get written up again for the store not being clean. oh! and just so you know if you ever go to the goodwill on apache trail and someone tells you "we are winding down for the night" that means we have about 5-8 minutes before we're closing the store, we're not allowed to tell you we're closing.

    Advice to Management

advice to management make an announcement when we're closing and make it clear, keep an eye on your closing management and talk to them about helping us with cleaning the store it's not just our job to make sure our customers have a clean place to shop and stop adding stupid petty rules every week us CSR can barly keep up as it is!

I worked at Goodwill full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Easy going. They help people with disabilities.

    Cons

I was a full-time hourly paid employee. I was sick for a few days and they dropped me from full-time to part-time so they wouldn't have to give me time off and took the time I had already acrrued. My hours were still an average of 36hrs. It meant I no longer qualified for benefits.

    Advice to Management

Anything beyond 32 hours is full time. Taking away a person's benefits because they are I'll is not showing employees you value them.

    Pros

    -Cool discounts.
    -Mostly friendly coworkers.
-Good stepping stone to better jobs...if you don't have any skills, pick some up here and then RUN.
-They do a good job getting at-risk adults and immigrants work.

    Cons

-Management team mostly bullies and losers. Play favorites.
-You will be treated like a machine, not a person.
    -Harassment, gossip, backstabbing.
-Human Resources a joke. Numerous complaints ignored, "lost", dismissed. No empathy.
-Management disconnected from reality of their job. No idea how to run a store.
-Employee highlights usually showcase desk workers and brown nosers, not people that actually make the company run.
    -Sweatshop conditions.

    Advice to Management

None that you would follow or understand.
