I have been working at Goodwill full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place to work lots of opportunity for growth, helped me become independent and comfortable in many different situations. So young feel like I've experienced great things that have made me a solid and well rounded member of management.

    Cons

Training unfortunately with any non-profit will all be hands on which in terms will lead you to learn more from your mistakes than from training the key to making here is to never feel discouraged when making your mistakes and take them as what they are, a learning experience.

    Advice to Management

Get better in tune with team to strive as one toward the same goal. Become more aware of what production actually is and you'll be better prepared to not only reach sales goals but make more educated decisions, and lead your stores in the right direction.

I have been working at Goodwill full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Will give first-time employees a chance when no one else will. Works very hard to help, hire, and retain veterans.

    Cons

Managers ae trained, but then do whatever they want; even good, helpful policies are not carried out company-wide.

    Advice to Management

When you know a store manager has gone rogue, get them out of there before the place blows up.

I have been working at Goodwill full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You work with a group of caring individuals in a way that changes peoples' lives. We do in-depth case management, working with disabled individuals. Through work training and placement assistance, they become contributing members of our society. To watch the growth and success of my clients, provides me with tremendous satisfaction.

    Cons

With any not for profit work, the money is nothing to get excited about and the insurance is worse! The management tries hard to find ways to recognize and reward its' staff, but there is only so much that you can do.

    Advice to Management

The management does a wonderful job of consistently showing initiative in finding new ways to serve the community.
