    Pros

I loved contributing my knowledge of different computer applications to the students I worked with. It was great to help students work to improve their grades.

    Cons

There were days when there were not a lot of students that came in for tutoring.

    Advice to Management

I really enjoyed working in this position.

"Goodwin is not so "Good" anymore"

I worked at Goodwin College full-time

    Pros

It's great to work with students to help them reach their goals. Good colleagues, convenient location, beautiful building.

    Cons

Low salaries and self-centered upper management who are focused on money rather than the student experience. Be prepared to work your fingers to the bones without so much as a thank you. When I started working for this company several years ago there was an emphasis on "customer service", meaning that the student was number one, and at that time staff were given enough time to work with students and make them feel valued. There were fewer management layers between the front-line people and the president; the president used to wall the halls and talk with students and staff. Now, it is all about time and money, and the students and staff are considered unimportant and replaceable.

    Advice to Management

Remember that satisfied students are central to your mission, and then support the staff who are helping your students succeed. If you need to save money cut out some of the dead wood middle management.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Goodwin College full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There is an opportunity for employee to get further educational benefits and as an advisor I get a change to change lives for a brief moment

    Cons

Management is all over the place, don't listen to their staff, and tend to hire base off of who they like and who they are friends with

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff and actually work for the students not your pockets.

    Pros

Great culture. People welcome you, and I feel like I could be myself there I've worked in other places and have found that this is the best culture I've ever worked in people who work here passionate about what they do, and believe in treating our students well. It is very inspiring

    Cons

Medical benefits could be better, because it is really expensive to cover kids or families
