I worked at Goodwin Procter full-time

    Pros

Had short stint where technology was being refreshed and overhauled.
Company culture and values were great, as were the teams we worked with.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the company was too focused on increasing their ranking on the AM LAW lists (aka dollars billed), and moving into a new HQ; that they reversed the spend on the technology portfolio after a few short years that would have supported them to that goal. Large layoff in IT and still very Boston centric despite trying to shift the culture.

    Advice to Management

The legal industry has been due to revamp all its legacy systems and come into the 21st century. Pay attention to technology and don’t just consider your IT teams and assets as overhead or a cost center.

    Pros

A nice firm. Nice, very smart and dedicated people, most of whom care about your career.

    Advice to Management

Continue doing what you're doing. Goodwin is a nice place.
