I worked at Goodyear full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

To count on tires, health insurance is not horrible that's about it!

    Cons

Corporate stores are not many to make money but they chastise them for not making money. Raises are no more than 3% a year

    Advice to Management

Fire all old dog district managers as they are a hindrance.

    I worked at Goodyear full-time

    Pros

Many good people. Decent benefits. Plants are great places with great people that truly care about the business.

    Cons

Nasty politics in the HR department. Everyone worried about how they look versus actually getting real value-creating work done.

    Advice to Management

Lighten up the culture. Drive and reward results, not appearances.

I worked at Goodyear full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people on the manufacturing floor. Morale is low however.

    Cons

Managed with fear of being humiliated in front of peers. Disrespectful communication run amuck.

    Advice to Management

Change your style or expect mass exodus.

I have been working at Goodyear full-time

    Pros

The only thing that come to mind is having an hour lunch

    Cons

They treat employees badly, demote a good working employee for a poor performing employee, place you in the spot above the lowest position and promise to move you to the next leave only to make sure you don't go any where. The store manager is so bad we have had 4 people quit already.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the numbers to see who is doing their jobs instead of who kissing your butt.

I worked at Goodyear full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Money, paid every week Thursday or Friday depending on bank

    Cons

Too many deaths at the plant, management don't care bout how hard you work , you will still get fired, if management don't like you, this is what happened to me. I was lied on by management and was fired for no reason at all. The union will not help and make up excuses. If you plan on working there keep to yourself and DON'T JOIN THE UNION, why waste money on people who not going to help you when you need them?

    Advice to Management

The Goodyear plant in Danville, Va have taken a rough turn over the years, due to the incompetence of management. Management stop caring over the years about the quality and cleaniness of the Goodyear facility in Danville,Va and deaths at the facilities is devastating example of who pays the prices for the incompetence: The Goodyear workers and their families. My advice is to shut it down,Goodyear, so another company with pride in their products and work ethics can replace Goodyear

I worked at Goodyear full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some really good people work here.

    Cons

They offered me a General Manager position, agreed to 2 week notice to my current employer, convinced me to move my wife and daughter to another city (Naples, FL). After I put notice in to my employer, they then pressured me to break my 2 week notice with Lexus, I resigned my Director role (6 figure income) with Lexus, rented my house out, moved my family to Naples. Arrived on Saturday and I began working Monday, spent week learning systems and processes, observing staff to learn personalities and roles, getting my daughter transferred in school system and family settled etc etc. Friday evening after I left work I was advised (VIA TEXT!) my employment was terminated because I exaggerated my experience. My experience is 25 years in auto repair, 23 years as Manager/Director. ALL verifiable! The owner refused to meet with me nor would he even discuss. He wouldn't even answer his phone. I couldn't go back to Lexus (trained replacement), I couldn't even return home as my house was rented with lease for the next year.

    Advice to Management

I wouldn't know where to begin.
