I worked at Goodyear full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Recognized name&logo. Company Vehicle,awesome co-workers(Service Techs)

    Cons

    Where to begin?? Paid 1x a month,antiquated computer system,3 passwords needed(ridiculous,it's Tires,NOT Fort Knox!)

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Goodyear full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Decent pay
    Payed Vacation
    Possible Overtime
    Busy times
    Certain holidays off
Chance for moving up if you want to go for it

    Cons

Need your own tools so if you want this career then be ready
GS is bottom of the totem pole and has to do basically everything
Most techs see themselves as high and mighty and don't clean up or help out
The pay is not that great if your planning on just being a gs for life
Being a GS is probably the worst job there

    Advice to Management

Find better employees or treat your GSes better because they are the ones who do all the crap no one else wants and are getting the shortest end of the stick working there butts off to clean oil changes tires ect...

    Cons

Get a little dirty, yea that's it.

    Advice to Management

Keep your costumer base at all costs, that is the company.

    Pros

Commission was ok. Flexible schedule. Meeting some nice people.

The benefits was okay. The company wasn’t bad per say. It’s good for young people. However you do get in trouble if your store doesn’t make it sales.

    Cons

Bad management. Horrible customers. Meetings. The company gives customers whatever they want even when wrong. Also, open on some holidays which can be annoying.

I have been working at Goodyear full-time

    Pros

Job offers good pay, competitive benefits and a decent regular working schedule. Safety and morale are improving on the floor and in the midlevel areas, but must get better from upper management to floor associates.

    Cons

High work load and stress for middle management results in high turnover. It is hard to keep good managers because they leave for other opportunities due to the working environment and scheduling.

    Advice to Management

Work with your people and be open minded. Strive to increase associate involvement and work life balance for management. These guys are so worn out they have a hard time being enthusiastic and driving employee involvement and culture change.

    Pros

    Weekends off
    Holiday Pay
    401k
    Coworkers are great

    Cons

Work environment is toxic. the rubber dust floating around gets in your sinuses and lungs. The manager at my location (not speaking for all) is very aggressive in his words to other employees. This makes the work environment very stressful. Policies are often removed from the intranet for no reason (things like vacation policies, sick time policies etc). Very little room for advancemnt

    Advice to Management

Be Consistent in how you treat your team.

I have been working at Goodyear (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, very competitive pay. Good team culture being built among middle management. Stable job with plenty of money to be made via overtime.

    Cons

Unrealistic scheduling and high pressure from upper management. The “one for one” manager approach makes it so that you have to work any time the opposite manager is out. This often means 80+ hour work weeks any time they deem necessary.

    Advice to Management

Think outside the box and train management to float and cover each other. Establish a culture of taking care of the people in the factory and understand that this alone will improve productivity.
