    Pros

Great pay, benefits, excellent health care, bonuses are a plus, if you like working overtime it's available

    Cons

ruff on the body, you work hard, you can be bumped out of a shift or job not by qualified employers but by long term employees, if your spouse PCS and you plan on returning it hard to get back in the company.

    Pros

This job was ok. Really hot in the summer. Really cold in the winter. A fast paced atmosphere. Some of the area managers are horrible.

    Cons

Horrible area managers and upper management levels. These people will mess up your checks and vacation. Provoke you to do irrational things and even cause you to loos your job if you don't bend to their will.

    Advice to Management

Please stop treating the workers like robots. You treat the machines better than your employees.

  3. "The experience depends on the department, however the company is very antiquated in their way of thinking and doing."

    Pros

They provide a good work life balance.

    Cons

A true manufacturing environment and mentality.

    Advice to Management

The company needs to not be scared of new ideas from new employees, this is the reason they are hired. Value employees and recognize that not one managers opinions should supersede others.

I have been working at Goodyear Rubber full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Excellent training, growth opportunities, pay
This factory is big enough to be called a county. If you want to experience a factory with 2400+ employees, 770 acres and about 60+ acres under the roof - this is it.
I read about plant management in the other reviews and the negative opinion is not true. The new management is pretty good and the new plant manager is a calm and composed person. He is very inspiring but tough. I have not seen him express irrational behavior.

    Cons

Work life balance - 10 hour work days minimum. Seems like no one has a life outside of Goodyear.
Extreme expectations - Salaried folks get calls at nights, most salaried folks work saturdays and the engineers work even Sundays on rotation
Danville - is a town on the decline and is in the middle of nowhere. So if you work here expect to live a minimum of 30 miles away. Now add that to the work life balance issues.
Health benefits - each year something new is introduced where the benefits become worse but still more expensive.
While growth opportunities are plenty, the expectation is that you move from plant to plant. If you have a family thats tough. Also Goodyear seems to have a knack for locating factories in places no one wants to live in. So each move is to one boondocks to another.
No cafeteria, no gym - but of course they have an excellent golf course, shooting range, skeeting range, an old gokart race track, archery range.... Seems to be a reflection of the needs of the people of the area.
Lunch is mostly eaten at desk since its only for 30 minutes. Just to get out to the parking lot and back takes about 30 minutes due to the scale of the place. Why in Lord's name they wont have a cafeteria - I have no idea

    Advice to Management

Continue the good work. Hire more people so that salaried folks dont have to kill themselves
