I have been working at Google full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very smart people around (though that creates unhealthy competition and most people are way too overqualified for their roles).
Ok perks ( though not too impressive specifically in Dublin)
Overall comp during the first 4 years is very competitive while the initial stock vests

    Cons

The golden days are over - the company has grown too much and has become way too political. It is a huge ad selling machine though employees are constantly brainwashed about it being the saver of the world. Google is more a sect than a grown up company and expect to be always online and connected mentally to work as this is what all the "perks" are really about even though your manager might sell you a different story. There is this continuous chase for excelling at everything and coming up with new projects and initiatives all the time so that your manager gets promoted quickly as new projects are sexiest. So be ready to work your bums if 12+ hrs a day if you're hired into L5+.

    Advice to Management

Make Google great again - as the company matures you need to make it a better ecosystem for mature people not millennial teenagers! Remove all the unnecessary middle management political layers. Some of the company's L8-9 are shameful, especially in Dublin. Loads of people, especially externally hired folks, who have close to zero impact while earning 1M+, this is hugely demotivating.

I have been working at Google full-time

    Pros

Best perks a company can give. Collaborate with great and intelligent colleagues in a very fast-pace environment, with a wide variety of global career opportunities.

    Cons

Since the last years more policy and red tapping is happening as it became harder for the company to retain its open and free culture.

I worked at Google as an intern

    Pros

Great people, great responsibility. You get given lots of creative control over what you can do within the scope of your role.

    Cons

Only con is that I now have to return to college and not stay on. I hope to return again once I've completed my degree

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing! Great employee benefits and hands down the best place I've ever worked in.

I have been working at Google as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Just Google, nothing else to say.

    Cons

Too many doors to knock if you wanna make a slight change, and sometimes growing is almost impossible.

I have been working at Google as a contractor

    Pros

    - Very good pay
    - The perks are great
    - Environment and office space is amazing
    - If you don't mind the usual big company politics it's a great place to work as a contractor for a couple of years.

    Cons

    - Was lied to when told there would be opportunities for advancement in my team. This is just blatantly not true for the team I was on in Dublin.
    - Leadership and communication from upper management was non-existent; pretty sure the usual internal office politics didn't help.
    - High turnover of people in the team

    Advice to Management

    - Provide better leadership training for upper management, or just find better ones.
    - Understand that culture is so so important. Although people are temps, you still need to make them feel part of the team and not like second class citizens.

I have been working at Google full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Extremely steep learning curve as a fresh grad
    - Great responsibility right from the first month in a smaller market, where you can have a lot of ownership
    - Empowerment and no micromanagement
    - Of course PERKS - food, gym, travel, office, etc

    Cons

    - After a certain level it is difficult to get promoted
    - Aggressive sales quotas (but doable)

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up :)
