Maybe the only dark cloud in the company is the fact that it is a big company and people are more likely to be left asside.

I worked at Google full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I was a longtime employee who grew a lot. I loved the creative environment, working with smart people, all the perks, never felt micro-managed. I always believed the company was trying to make the world a better place, never doubted the mission.

    Cons

As the company got bigger, it felt more corporate and restrictive. The pressure grew to where I really felt like I was on a hamster wheel. There isn't much opportunity for growth if you don't write code or do sales, at least not in the distributed offices. I left because I felt more busy than challenged, and I was just burned out.

    Advice to Management

None really - it is a fantastic place to work

I have been working at Google full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They apply the scientific method to everything, from writing software to running the business to planning the lunch menu. The results speak for themselves both in these reviews and in their market cap.

    Cons

No other place will ever be able to afford you. :) They could use a bit more focus in how they plan quarterly goals in some product areas.

    Advice to Management

Be careful not to lose the amazing culture you've created here. It could easily slip away as it has at other companies.

I worked at Google full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Great pay and perks
Some very interesting projects to work on that can have a major impact
Opportunity to improve yourself through training and interaction with world-class colleagues

    Cons

The crown jewels are at the main campus in Mountain View. There aren't as many opportunities for great projects at smaller offices.

    Advice to Management

    Don't let bureaucracy creep in

    Pros

Good environment, Free international trips, best coffee served, female co-employers are so hot... if you are good enough you can have a really good time flirting with them and i don't need to tell you rest.

    Cons

These boss are damn irritating .. they get a good pay .. still they behave so rude..

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up BRO !!

I worked at Google full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Truly the smartest groups of people you'll ever work with. More than anything, this was a reason to go to work every day. But also, working on products that the entire world touches is humbling and inspiring.

    Cons

Though more "flat" than other companies, as Google grew there was more and more need for typical career bureaucracy. It became necessary to champion your achievements up the ladder and jockey for recognition. Managers are stuck in the middle and with such a talented group of employees, it's hard to please them all. Lots of the most ambitious talent left for better career growth and prospects elsewhere.
