I worked at Google as an intern

    Pros

Work with extremely talented people who are experts in their field.

    Cons

Huge company - often times a sense of community was hard to find. It's a lot like going back to school and figuring out where you belong.

I worked at Google as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Very relaxed environment.
    - You can always find someone who cares about your work.
    - Respect your ideas.
    - Allow you to decide how to manage your work, time.
    - Really good learning experience.

    Cons

    - Management by intern hosts can be hit-or-miss. Some really care about your project but others may be really far removed from it.
    - Very large company so most of the work you do won't be used/relevant when you're gone.
    - Making longstanding connections may be difficult.
    - Difficult to get placed in locations of your choice, especially for out-of-country locations.

    Advice to Management

    - Vet projects better. They aren't well defined when you arrive, and sometimes feel useless once they're completed.
    - Maintain relationships past the internship. The company seems to forget you exist if you don't come back. Intern recruiters are too focused on meeting quotas and getting everyone matched. If you're not interested in coming back (maybe because you want to try other internships first), you may not have another chance.

I worked at Google as an intern

    Pros

Very competitive benefits. Working with the smartest.

    Cons

Culture is very intense (which is not bad if you share the same attitude).

    Advice to Management

One summer I had a manager who was friendly and communicated, the other summer not so much...

I worked at Google as an intern

    Pros

Great food, smart people, good work and life balance

    Cons

A good place to work for benefits and culture, but not super exciting. In a corporation of 65,000 people, it can often be frustrating how standardized processes and jobs can feel.

    Pros

Very focused on fun, lots of cool things to do

    Cons

Not a good place for someone with conservative views.

    Advice to Management

You say you want everyone in the company to feel like they can share their views, but really you only want those views that agree with yours

    Cons

Team culture varies greatly, so your environment and enjoyment depends on your team.
