I worked at Google as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get to be a part of incredible projects that have huge impacts on many users around the world. Very motivating environment !

    Cons

Can be rough sometimes, you're surrounded by very smart people and it can be intimidating, you have to learn to work fast.

I worked at Google as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

You are given a lot of freedom over the work you do as an intern. I was given one main project to work on when I entered the role, but was able to branch out into additional types of work as well as the internship went on.

    Cons

You don't have much say over the team and role you are placed into. Also, you do not know much about what your role entails until you actually arrive. Google is can be very secretive.

    Advice to Management

More transparency before the internship begins.

I worked at Google as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

A lot of opportunities to meet new interesting, smart people. Really great salary compare to russian realities.

    Cons

Probably you would feel more relaxed then in a start-up, for example

    Pros

Very good! I had a great experience interning here. I learned a lot and there were a lot of great perks!

    Cons

The host matching process. I would rather interview for a particular team, than interview for a general software role and then figure out which team I am working on.

    Advice to Management

Not much to say here. I think the management is great and I particularly enjoyed the TGIF sessions. Great way to learn what's going on at the company!

I worked at Google as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Google is great for someone just starting out. Interns have plenty of resources for learning, and there is a lot to learn from! An internship also instills good coding practices and style.

    Cons

Matching process is fairly non-transparent and results can vary widely depending on the project and team you are matched with. That said, at worst, you are only looking at a boring job.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Google is a company with values and leaders that respect those values. It was a pleasure to work there.

I worked at Google (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - So many things to learn and do.
    - Everyone really cares about what they're working on.
    - Easy to maintain a good work life balance.

    Cons

    - Many googler's often get caught up on their projects and so often don't have much of a life outside of work.

I worked at Google as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Intelligent Coworkers
    Professional Atmosphere
Free Food and Gym on site

    Cons

A very big company, open floor plans are distracting and weird (you can see hundreds of other people from your desk in some buildings). Mountain View had too many people for my preference.

I worked at Google as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a great place to work. Some of the smartest people I've ever met, working on issues they really care about. As advertised and widely known, they treat their employees very well.

    Cons

Nothing bad to say except the techno-euphoria that (expectedly) has swept up the entire place. I wished that they questioned a little more the impact of the products they were developing on communities and societies.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing! Transparency, efficiency, and respect are all pluses. You sometimes feel like a cog in a machine because of the sheer size of the company, but management really makes you feel like you're an important part of an important mission.
