I have been working at Google full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Google is know for its amazing benefits and smart employees. That is all true. The work environment is easy going and friendly. The compensation is great.

    Cons

I don't see enough people really being passionate about what they are doing. There are smart people but may be there isn't that fit for their passion to the project that the are working on. People seem far too chilled out.

    Advice to Management

With engineering teams driving their own growth and creating projects only looking at their department needs, there needs to top-down direction to allow for each teams OKRs to be aligned with the company's OKR.

I have been working at Google full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The best technical people, striving to do things really well. And with lot of resources, you can do it. If you want to learn from talented people and do things better this is a great place.

    Cons

You have to catch up that level, so work hard, harder. Not everyone is googley.

    Advice to Management

Too much self-complacency. And you are hiring too many people not that great, neither professionally nor personally.

I worked at Google as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Interns are potentially given very high impact projects and a lot of decision-making power in how to approach the projects, for example design, leading meetings, looking over user feedback, performance optimization, and so on
    - Google really cares about pushing high quality engineering code and has very good infrastructure and documentation to help you with that
    - Management (at least within my division) was extremely accessible and would always listen to my thoughts - we even had a week within our group dedicated to discussions on diversity. People on other teams/roles are also friendly and open to talking.
    - A culture that really promotes good character (being "Googley") and personal well-being

    Cons

    - Above pros may depend on the team.
    - Recruiting/hiring process changes a little bit every year so it's a bit confusing even for returning interns/interns looking to convert
