I have been working at Gordmans full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Gordmans has a fun and exciting culture for associates and for their guests. I have thoroughly enjoyed working for this company until the handling of the bankruptcy unfolded. The media knew before associates including store managers knew.

    Cons

Technology is years behind other retailers, but is improving.

I have been working at Gordmans part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - 20% discount
    - Easy to create friends

    Cons

    - Often told by my customers that my boss is terrible to me and to them
    - Managers always made me feel like I was a useless piece of trash
    - Favorites our often chosen
    - No allowed to voice opinion
-Often told that "it wouldn't be hard to replace you" when asking a question
    - Doesn't allow you to express yourself
    - Very very concerned about the amount of money they can pull in

    Advice to Management

Actually hire managers that care about their workers, I do not understand how managers expect me to want to work for them when they treat me like trash. They need to work on communication and respect. For example, if my manager has not spoken to me my entire shift, I will do my best to find something that I is efficient. The disrespect comes from when you yell at me for not doing something that I needed to do, when you have failed to communicate with me at all.

    Pros

    Discount
    Pay
    Friends
Fitting room is easy and chill
Being in the stock room is the best

    Cons

    Poor management
Not many people want to work
    Covering others shifts
Being called up to customer service 24/7
    Not being told the truth
    Boss likes to pick favorites

    Advice to Management

Don't lie to your employees and tell them that they ARE NOT seasonal, and then fire them with the rest that are seasonal

Learn how to schedule part time more than once or twice a week

Don't keep switching around our task (if the schedule says that I stay in accessories ONLY that night then don't tell me "Oh I'm moving you to registers and someone else will do assesories)

    I worked at Gordmans part-time

    Pros

Meet great people, many of which are your co-workers

    Cons

Low pay, difficult to raise. Your hard work often goes unnoticed by management. If it is noticed, it's nearly impossible to be rewarded for it or gain any status in the company. After being a loyal associate for over a year, not one manager even commented on my leaving other than why. You're so easily replaced, and you'll feel that way.

    Cons

Very low pay for responsibilities, no vacation, no support from corporate team. Store managers walk all over and talk down to LP Agents for doing their job.
