I have been working at Gordon Flesch Company full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The people, you will have trouble finding a better group. They take care of their employees with benefits and time off.

    Cons

The pay could be a bit better.

I worked at Gordon Flesch Company full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, flexible scheduling, respectful work environment.

    Cons

Poor incentives if you aren't a sales rep.

    Advice to Management

Having incentives for employees that aren't sales reps could go a long way in increasing productivity and overall morale.

I worked at Gordon Flesch Company full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Initially was a great place to work, flexible hours, decent pay, decent benefits and good people

    Cons

Management shifted without warning. What was once OK was deemed to be unacceptable. Initially, a very lax environment that turned hostile quickly.

Was never made aware that OT could be earned and had worked over 40 hours a week for months. Was finally given the OT but I hadn't been formally tracking so it was less than I deserved.

Lots of gossip amongst departments and branches. My manager called other departments stupid and idiots and slammed branches when we're supposed to be a team.

Unrealistic expectations from management. Expected work to be our life. Sales team giving all the benefits in the world. Leave whenever, huge trips, etc. while the rest received free Qdoba...

    Advice to Management

Speak to your employees and set rules from the beginning. If they change, communicate the changes better. Don't micromanage over a few minutes here and there. If the job is being done and done well, then what does it matter. Stop treating the sales team like gold as, without the rest, sales wouldn't be able to do their job.

I have been working at Gordon Flesch Company full-time

    Pros

I love my co-workers, the occasional food perks, and the additional summer "vacation" hours. Also, the ability to move from one position to another within the corporation (if you are qualified), and they do like to promote from within.

    Cons

There are not a ton of opportunities beyond supervisor/manager...but a few are there.

I have been working at Gordon Flesch Company full-time

    Pros

Culture. Pay. Freedom. Flexibility. Incentives. Benefits.

    Cons

They are beat on price by the competition most times. There are too many products to manage.

    Advice to Management

More concentrated training at the company's expense. An employee shouldn't have to sacrifice their pay or family time to become well-versed in your company's products.

    Pros

You have a lot of freedom in your work, and great rewards for great performance. The company is focused on providing the best possible circumstance for their customers and employees and because of that they have low churn on both accounts.

    Cons

It takes time, potentially years to achieve the level of success that is expected, but you may not have long enough as an employee to get to that point, no matter what you do. And so there is high churn in limited roles.

    Advice to Management

Make sure new employees know you're all in with them and be willing to protect good workers for the long haul. Engage in more, and ongoing training programs to be sure you're developing your people over time. There needs to be greater cultivation of skilled workers.

    Pros

Supportive coworkers, decent benefits/vacation time, average pay. Good work/life balance.

    Cons

Middle and upper level management are out for themselves and have no problem back stabbing their employees or other managers/supervisors. Sales is the most important aspect of the company. If you are not in sales, you are a cog in the machine and just another number to them. I hope you like your job when you start there, because they never give out promotions and the yearly reviews are a joke. The management is only allowed to give a certain very small percentage of employees the top raise levels, so the majority of people are stuck right in the middle and are given the impression that the best you are doing is only average. They also took away everyone's Christmas bonuses and downgraded the yearly Christmas party to a pizza and soda party so they could give that money to charity, aka give themselves a nice tax write-off.

Great benefits, great upper management, understanding and flexible.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the employees who don't believe in teamwork and take all the work for themselves.
