    Emerging company, high growth opportunity, potential for success

    Cons

    There is no corporate transparency--every department tends to work against the others. Each department is not held accountable for their actions. While there is potential for growth, management has no control over any department but their own. There is no real work life balance here and no "servant leadership"

    Advice to Management

    Consider seriously evaluating your strategic business plan and then discuss it with your employees. Have actual "round tables" in which the people actually out in the field are coming up with solutions to internal and external issues. Determine long term solutions to problems rather then coming up with a band-aid solutions. Invest in marketing tools that aren't dated, create an effective communication program. Consider the idea that they way you have been doing business--is not the way you should continue to do business.

    I worked at Gordon Food Service part-time

    Pros

    The company cares about it's employees. We get small perks, discounts, and holiday bonuses (even for part-timers!). The store has limited hours on Sunday to allow you to be with your family. My managers were great. A lot of promoting from within, which is nice.

    Cons

    Women were always stuck on register while men stocked. This kind of assigning felt very dated.
