I worked at Gordon Food Service full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Profit Sharing and 401K match

    Cons

Servant Leadership, which they boast does not exist. Good old boys club is the rule from the top down. People are hand selected for promotions or job openings within the company. Even if you are looking to transfer to a different position, people are already hand selected. No opportunities for growth unless you are a part of the club. Forget performance, it doesn't matter. Hostile work environment, especially if you are a woman. No work life balance.

    Pros

GFS is a great place to work. They take care of people and opportunities to learn are endless. Excellent benefits, 401K, profit sharing, annual bonus, competitive pay, etc. Loved working there!

    Cons

Unfortunately my job was cut due to COVID-19. They had massive layoffs recently and lots of people lost their jobs. Sadly, it will take a long time for food and beverage industry to recover from the pandemic.
