I have been working at Government of Canada

    Pros

It's a stable environment with good salaries, a good pension plan, and decent career growth prospects if you apply yourself.

    Cons

The pace is slow, there are many layer of bureaucratic red tape, and the work may not feel meaningful, depending on the specific role and department or agency in question.

    Advice to Management

Look for growth opportunities within your staff to keep them engaged and motivated.

I have been working at Government of Canada for more than a year

    Pros

Pay is above minimum wage. Ability to grow your career. Benefits after 6 months.

    Cons

No room for shared ideas, or opinions. So much red tape, and people in control who have constricted views on how things should be done. Not much room to learn more, very repetitive, and monotonous tasks.

    Advice to Management

Keep communication open with employees. Respect their opinions.

I have been working at Government of Canada

    Pros

Good flexibility and benefits makes it nice to work for the government of Canada. Excellent pension plan for employees too.

    Cons

Things can sometimes move too slowly. A lot of red tape. Workplace 2.0 doesn't seem suitable for our work environment.

    Advice to Management

Don't just do things because it's the next in thing (is workplace 2.0) - do what works for the culture of the particular department.
