I worked at Government of Canada full-time

    Pros

You'll never get fired. Many people work 10-4, so you'll have an excellent work/life balance. But you really should read the cons section...

    Cons

Terrible starting pay, unintelligent coworkers, IT practices from the last century (waterfall development!), days spent supporting legacy applications (remember X/Motif?), and there's absolutely no institutional will to improve.
