    wide exposure to all Government operations, upward mobility for lower cadres

    Cons

    upward mobility becomes more stringent from Job Group N as vacancies are limited

    Job security, opportunity for further training, working with least supervision, opportunity to explore other parts of the country and learn operations of different border control points.

    Cons

    Bureaucracy in government provision of services, Government pay less salaries as compared to private sectors, Little room for growth on merit.

    Advice to Management

    Appraisal and reward to officers who excel in service provision, Control frequent movement of officers from one station to another to encourage learning. Improve on officers remuneration and reduce bureaucracy.

    conducive terms of employment, work benefits,working hours,good organisational structures on work and communication. good rewarding strategies and work and personal life balancing

    Cons

    the bad side is that there is a scheme of service and you only jump the next job group based on the number of years accumulated currently at 3 years interval. no personal motivation.

    Advice to Management

    i would advise them to strictly review the scheme of service. the merits for promotion as opposed to the number of years accumulated.

    it has given me an opportunity to serve people from all walks of live. I have enjoyed my work and gained more experience appreciation to many things and life.

    Bureaucracy. A decision sometimes takes longer than necessary to be made.

    I have enjoyed being trusted. When you trust employees they have a sense of belonging and are motivated.

    Pros

    Job security;relatively good medical package; numerous capacity building opportunities; the opportunity to serve the community especially those who have no other place to turn to is a plus.

    Cons

    Poor career progression; Nepotism; there lacks the dynamism at the workplace that i would really desire and lack of a clear performance monitoring system.

    Advice to Management

    Consider hiring personnel based on meritocracy and give the employees the tools and resources required for them to be able to achieve their targets.
