    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Governor's Office of Planning and Budget for more than 2 years

    Pros

Good hours, friendly staff. Lots of opportunities to meet and greet each other. Very laid back and stress free environment

    Cons

I honestly cannot think of many cons to the job. Most I would say is that you need to be quite motivated and good at problem solving

I worked at Governor's Office of Planning and Budget full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good place for learning managerial accounting and how to run organizations. Exposure to political process and how budgeting and finance in government works. Decent work/life balance. Management was flexible with teleworking and use of leave time as long as employee got work done and demonstrated responsibility. Pleasant co workers for the most part.

    Cons

High turnover rates when I was there due to a large number of people with past work experience and advanced degrees being treated like entry level employees with no clear path for advancing in organization. Very political environment and in giving promotions. Some people weren't qualified to be in their positions. Bad training--was really up to experienced analysts to train new people but all of the experienced ones started...

    Advice to Management

Do more to stop the high turnover. Create structure that will allow more people to advance.
