I worked at Govia Thameslink Railway

    Pros

Generally good benefits, huge rail franchise so the long-term future (post 2020 changes) is hopeful if you stick with it for the long haul.

    Cons

Very restrictive management contract means fewer positions. A big increase in workload and a reduction of quality has made morale extremely low.

    Advice to Management

    Communicate better with employees.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Govia Thameslink Railway full-time

    Pros

Good salary Great pension scheme (final salary) Free travel on their trains, and 75% off other trains Nice office Free coffee and tea and quite free to go out and get food Opportunity to get involved in a lot Recently launched a women’s network to support women in the Railway. Was really great event and great ideas.

    Cons

Some managers hired have been an absolute nightmare. Complete bullies and very unprofessional behaviours. Some teams do not get the chance to work from home or have flexible hours. So you are expected to work long hours and not get time back. You may not get noticed for your hard work.

    Advice to Management

Look after your team members. Allow flexible working to staff members.
