I worked at Grace Living Centers full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay for nurses is above average. Rehab side has better nurse-patient ratio because of the skilled nursing. Referral bonuses given.

    Cons

Serious understaffing. Scheduler and most leadership icky on a good day. Overnight patient ratio 60+ patients to one nurse on many nights. Dangerous short-cuts being taken on things such as insulin administration.

    Advice to Management

Nicer treatment to employees goes a long way.

I worked at Grace Living Centers full-time

    Pros

Staff that really cares, wonderful residents, fun activities, interaction with families that visit their loved ones and holidays

    Cons

Low pay for work in multiple areas of facility, too many residents per nurse, too much charting, working 20 hours straight with no relief, poor management, never seen admin unless having a meeting, facility smells, old falling apart building, staff is talked down to, to the point where they cry, messed up pay checks, people that are too old to do their jobs and not able to keep up with computers and technology and need to retire, cover ups to pass state checks, constant lying, favoritism of certain employees, being threatened by management that your gonna be written up for any little thing, admin showing up to check on facility drunk, staff not showing up everyday

    Advice to Management

Lead by example. Don't belittle employees and treat them like crap. Get off Facebook and pinterest and come out of your office and interact with your staff and residents, don't manage via text message, don't show up to work drunk or hungover, don't tell staff your personal problems we're not your friends or your counselor!

I worked at Grace Living Centers part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I enjoyed coming to work everyday to see the residents. I would greet them with a smile and kind words, they really appreciated it.

    Cons

Some of the staff wasn't very friendly to each other. Personal issues seemed to get in the way of individual jobs and duties.

    Advice to Management

My advice would be to look for more friendly people for hire, people who care about the job and task at hand.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Grace Living Centers full-time

    Pros

Unlimited over time, much of which comes without a choice

    Cons

Unsafe labor practices. Neglectfull of residents. They count office personell as direct care staff, and they count staff that are away for hours on transport, leaving skeleton staff to provide care for the residents.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of your Admin at #25 before she costs your corporation that facility.
