I worked at Graco full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Overall company is solid and has strong benefits package. If you work at corporate you can do well for yourself.

    Cons

Direct managers only care about their position and success in the company. Many are only out for themselves and will take credit for your success and tag you with their failures

    Advice to Management

Realize that you need to build a team environment not a bunch of kiss-ups to management. Your success is not on the value of the stock but on the growth of the Team.

I worked at Graco as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you get a full-time, you can stay as long as you want. Most people here have been here for at least 10 years.

    Cons

Still operates as a small company. Career growth opportunities are essentially non-existent. Any lean operations that they may observe stops when you leave the production floor.

    Advice to Management

Realize you need more man power in most departments.

I worked at Graco full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I enjoyed working with most of my co-workers.
    vacation never got denied.
benefits were good, but before I left it seemed like those were getting ready to go down the drain too.

    Cons

When I started working here it seemed like a good place to work... for the first few weeks. It became apparent to me very quickly that I was not going to be able to expand my knowledge base or get recognition for my work while being employed here. I left this company because I was tired of being held back. It's too bad because I really liked the location.

The pay is mediocre, and it depends on what position you take. If you are looking at a salaried engineering job you will be under paid and work a lot. If you are someone with no education looking for an unskilled job then this might just be the place to work.

    Advice to Management

    Too much to type.

    Pros

Pay was decent, work-life balance was usually ok.

    Cons

Not very challenging as far as engineering goes. No room for advancement as an engineer -- seemed like people either moved into management or left the company.

    Advice to Management

Where are the women? Are you ever going to let women into your executive ranks?
