I worked at Graco full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, flexible hours, great coworkers

    Cons

Engineering leadership wasn't the best. Lacked interpersonal and leadership skills. Would not step up and accept responsibility for the performance of the department under their supervision.

    Advice to Management

Training for those individuals who are being groomed for directorship positions. They need to be able to recognize the human aspect of technology management.

I have been working at Graco as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to work, full of smart people people, not your everyday manufacturing. Not an assembly line kind of plant new innovative projects everyday.

    Cons

I really have nothing bad to say about the company. I want to say nothing but good things on this site as well.

    Advice to Management

Nothing, there is nothing I can say to management to make this company do any better. Love this company.

I worked at Graco as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots to do, always keep you busy. Great people to work with, can always ask if you have questions.

    Cons

Lots of changes in managment when i started, ended up spending most of my time fighting fires that should not have happened. Too many employees that have been there a long time are not interested in working much anymore and it is almost as bad as being a union shop when it comes to fireing somone.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to those who do not care anymore and should not be there. Reward the ones who care and work hard.

I have been working at Graco as an intern

    Pros

You get to actually do hands on work. If you need a fixture, you make it. No one keeps tabs on you, lots of freedom.

    Cons

Not many to note. Not many company sponsored events if you're into that sort of thing.

    Advice to Management

I guess more company sponsored events/ lunches would be nice. Otherwise, nothing to note.

I worked at Graco full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Graco has competitive salaries and great benefits. They are committed to developing market-leading, high quality products, and back it up by spending a lot on product development.

    Cons

Job postings for entry level mechanical design engineers are a bit misleading. First few years at the company, entry level design engineers work in 'standard product', which is basically taking care of any issues with the current product line. You are basically doing this work my yourself, and it is very hard to get support from other departments because standard products are a low priority to most employees/departments.

    Advice to Management

Graco does a good job of attracting young talent out of college, but doesn't do a great job of encouraging/providing an engaging/fun work culture for the younger employees. Also the job posting descriptions for entry level design engineers is not accurate.

    Cons

Can get intense, dates do not move, but that is what drives a successful business.
